I was debating about whether I would post this today or tomorrow. But, figured I’d just go ahead and do it today, because we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled GOC posts tomorrow;). Hopefully, this will be short and sweet.
So, for the big day, I wore a TnC done with four twists. On Friday night, I washed my hair with Terressentials Mud Wash, rinsed and applied the ApHogee 2 Minute Keratin Reconstructor for about 10 minutes and then deep conditioned with Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose conditioner. It was my first time using the latter and the verdict is still out (I’ll have to use it again before I can say one way or the other, but I had to use a ton of HEHH to detangle before rinsing). I didn’t pre-poo or detangle before washing or use a leave-in after. When I finished rinsing the conditioner, it was late and I was tired. So, I just twisted my hair into four big twists, rolled them to the roots using the small pink flexirods, donned a satin scarf and bonnet and hit the sack. It was after midnight by that time! But, I was hoping that my product-less hair would still dry overnight.
NOT!! Frick!! Can a sista catch a break? So, when we left the house around 1:45 pm the next day, the twists were still twisted and I had put the front left one back on a roller because it was wet and hanging longer than the others! We hopped in the car and I immediately I put the windows down, opened the sunroof and crossed my fingers that it would dry during the hour and a half ride. When we arrived at our location, I hit the bathroom, untwisted with some the JBCO I keep stashed in my purse and fluffed. Good to go.
We had a great time :)!! My parents, grandmothers, sisters, bro-in-law, niece, and my best friend and her husband were all present. Wei’s parents, nephew godfather and wife (our gracious hosts), godmother, godbrother (who also happens to be one of my college friends) and one of his favorite cousins repped his side of the family;). Everyone got along great and it was casual, friendly and joyful. Good food, good company, good times;)!! We are truly blessed and our families greeted and welcomed each other with open arms as Wei’s family did with me and mine with him. So, it’s all good. It’s all really good;).
And with that, here are a few more pics of the festivities:).
Thank you all for your well wishes and words of support. We really and truly appreciate them:). Bigger and better things are to come, I’m sure:)!!
