Screeeeeeeeeeeeech!!!! Hold up!! We have a last minute contender throwing her hair in the ring!!! Check out the “Edited to Add” udpate!!
************************************************************************************************************
Name: Michelle aka CurlyChellz aka Chloe’s mom
Goals: My hair goal is to maintain healthy hair and my length goal is BSL (Bra Strap Length). I am currently grazing APL (Arm Pit Length). Hmmmmmm, my ultimate weight goal is to be between 135-140lbs. I am currently 166 lbs. So, my realistic weight loss goal will be to lose 15 lbs for the challenge.
Regimen:
My ultimate regimen goal is to scale down and streamline the products I use on my hair. My planned routine will be to develop a consistent one.
Hair
- I currently henna once a month, but will move to henna glosses (using Shelli’s detailed steps) with just the roots and begin adding henna to my edges (I have one gray hair at both my temples and the orange/red henna just accentuates them against my dark tresses … lol).
- I will also begin to wash my hair with theTerressentials Lavender Mud Wash once a month using Naptural85’s method.
- I also want to incorporate more protective styles into my hairstyle rotation, butWnG’s will most likely be my staple since it will be “summer, summer time.”
Health & Fitness
- My weight loss routine will be to eat cleaner foods, incorporate more veggies (raw) into my meals, to juice my morning meal and eat healthy portioned meals for the other two.
- I will also resume my Zumba classes at least once a week, as well as waking up my Mii character on the Wii to do 30 minutes (minimum) of Just Dance 3 or Wii Fit 3-5 days a week with Chloe.
- I would like to also start weight training, but we’ll see with that.
- Last, stay prayed up for motivation, perseverance and patience.
Reward: Ok, since I have three goals (yes I’m counting the weight loss as two goals, because I have to change my eating and exercise – see TWO, I should have three rewards, right?), first will be to get family pictures done. Hopefully I’ll be lighter, leaner and have lusher locks. Second will be a few pairs of new shoes, because with my weight loss, my feet will go back to the 7 ½-8’s they were before my weight gain. Third, will be to continue my new healthy lifestyle (includes my hair)!

GOC Contender #13.5: Chloe
Name: Chloe
Goal: As I stated in her mini-hairscapader story, Chloe naturally has layers in her hair. So the front, sides and back have never been one length. That is my goal, to get her hair to a more uniform length. Chloe is at mid-back length now after a cut in March (she took off about 1 1/2-2inches). Her sides are about armpit length and the front is shoulder length, but these are not consistent. So, I’m working on maintaining her healthy hair and for length I want armpit length in the front and sides.
Regimen:
- Wash hair with the Terressentials Mud Wash (TMW) Lavender flavor (why is it a flavor???) once a month. The wash will be diluted to stretch the pricey product. We’ve washed once with it and I LOVE IT! Remember the baby doll strand feel when you first begin to use henna??? Well, the initial tacky/gummy feel you get when you apply the wash goes away once you rinse and the strands feels so soft and detangling is NIL (*jumping for joy*).
- So on a weekly basis, ok let’s be real, probably will be twice a month, co-wash with Organix Coconut Milk Condish or Tressemme Flawless Curls Condish (I picked this up when I couldn’t find the Tressemee Naturals Condish-not bad).
- For time’s sake and my convenience, but much to Chloe’s chagrin, her hair will rarely be out. After the TMW, I twisted her hair using the, “twist the opposite way you would normally for fatter twists” method. And, I don’t know if it was the wash or the technique, but her twists (about 20) were PLUMP, SOFT and stayed twisted without a rubberband on the ends. So, we will be rocking twists and, in a pinch, a huge curly pony with a cute bow and out the door.
- I will also be working on my cornrowing skills (cuz I have NONE), so when the pool opens, I can throw two in her head and then throw her in the pool.
Reward: Will be another blow-out (she was so stoked-her hair has never been that straight), a mommy and me mani/pedi and an afternoon at Sephora (her fave place in the mall).
omg…look at baby dolls hair!!!
