Okay, I don’t really know if it’s a bandwagon. It’s just that CurlyNikki and Emily CottonTop have both written about the wonder that is Green Vibrance.

Before I started taking my prenatal, I had a glass of Green Vibrance every morning. It was the only vitamin/supplement that I could ‘feel’ working. It gave me energy and with breakfast, kept me feeling full until lunch. Unfortunately it tastes like swamp butt, and MUST be mixed into apple juice for it to be considered palatable.

In my freezer there is almost always a Jar of Green Vibrance, this stuff is so awesome I can’t even begin to tell you! Personally I did not like the taste at first, and still… it is a little challenging to get down. But once you get it in there!! Your cells will start to do back flips. I usually have my Vibrant shot in the morning right before I start my day, and they recommend having another glass at some point throughout the day.

Look at the sheer number of healthy junk in this stuff!!

My order from Amazon ($54.96 for 24 oz. w/free shipping) arrived yesterday and I’ve had it twice since then. Yeah … swamp butt. I mixed it with almond milk and it pretty much tastes like dried grass shavings and dirt mixed in almond milk. *Bleh* However, I’ve drunk worse. I did a detox a few years back and had to drink psyllium husk mixed with water. The taste was very similar, but it was 10 times thicker and may have been the most disgusting thing that I’ve ever forced down my throat. I had to repress my gag reflex every time I drank it. After a few days, I found psyllium husk caps and replaced the “drink” (I use that term extremely loosely) with the quickness!!

Anywho, I’m hopeful that Green Vibrance will give me the energy that I’ve been seeking, ‘cuz Lord knows that I’m not getting the sleep that I need. Although that green smoothie was delicious, I wasn’t getting the awesome and sustained boost that I used to get when I juiced veggies and fruit. However, I know that I don’t have the time nor desire to juice. So, keeping my fingers crossed that this will be a less labor intensive, but adequate substitute (just need to find a better recipe ;)). I need something that is going to keep me going all day, so that I have the energy to get through work without three cups of coffee and make it home with the steam to blast through a work-out and write a few posts!! ‘Cuz yeah … after getting home after 7:30 p.m. last night and taking a call that went until 9 p.m., I blew-off working out again :(. On a good note, I did do Abs of Steel yesterday morning and ate well. But, I soooo have to do so much better.

  1. Oooh Lord no. Swamp butt? I can’t.

    I love my Shakeology. It has the greatest of the greatest and I get the energy and alertness as well. Of course, it’s double the cost of the Green Vibrance but I’m ok with it because it tastes REALLY good especially the Tropical Strawberry. The Greenberry…not that’s swamp butt LOL. The chocolate is good too.

    • Never heard of that before Millicent. Seems like a full cleanse/detox system. Do you do the limited cleanse or use something in the line daily?

      Michelle, I thought of your Shakeology! I’ve seen the infommercial an BeachBody, but it’s soooo expensive! I think I’m too cheap for it! LOL!!

Lol this is too funny, I saw a link from Shelli website and was reading up on this, this weekend i happend to be in the vitamin store and asked the guy if he had Green Vibrance,he smiled so hard and showed me where it was, my face turned into a frown when i saw the price. But i am going to get it this weekend.

  3. Thanks for the info Shelli, I may try the packets because I’m in need of energy too. I’ve been juicing for 3 months and I thought it would give me more energy but it’s doesn’t. 😦

    • LOL!!! Yeah, it really is grassy tasting in almond milk. But, I tried it in Wei’s vanilla rice milk the last couple of days and that masks the taste a lot more! But, the rice milk has a lot more calories (120) per 8 ounces than the plain almond milk (40). I’m going to try adding it to the green smoothie recipe instead though! I think that will almost completely mask it!

  4. Ok, I found this at the health food store today and was about to buy packets of it instead of the big container just in case it doesn’t agree with me lol. I’ll start tomorrow so we’ll see what happens.

    • LOL! Jai, again, I make no false pretense that this stuff tastes good or even bland. I’ll also say, I haven’t really had that energy boost I was seeking either. But, my energy levels are also at their lowest as it is about to be that time! So, going to hang in there. It has kept the plumbing working though;)! LMBO!! The things you are no longer embarrassed to talk about when you get old! LOL!!

      • Sis, I tried this with water and as soon as I opened the packet I was like damn cuz it smelled like henna lol. Bottom line, I chickened out after tasting it but I plan to try again next week. I can’t even imagine adding this to my beloved almond milk; gag me with a spoon ROFLMBO

  7. I too received my Green Vibrance in the mail last week and have been taking it every morning before leaving for work. I do have a few questions…1. Should I continue to take my multivitamin?, 2. Should I also purchase Biotin as the Green Vibrance only offer 60% of the daily recommendation of B12 and 3. Should I take the Green Vibrance and Biotin without the multivitamin?

    • Hi Viola, I am taking my prenatal vitamin, but I’m no doctor, so I wouldn’t want to give advice on that. But, you know, know that you raise the question, I should like at the vitamin and mineral content and if it provides 100% of the daily recommended allowance of the same things that are in my Vita-fol, I guess I shouldn’t take the multi on the same days I drink the GV (which hasn’t been a daily event yet;). At my meet-up in DC, Dr. Phoenyx said that we really shouldn’t go over 100% of a DRA, so those high-potency vitamins aren’t good. I also think that the GV is a natural source and it’s far more likely that our body can absorb 100% of the nutrients in it, so no additional supplementation may be necessary. But, again, I am NOT a doctor!! LOL!! So, I would suggest consulting with your primary on it if you are planning on drinking the GV daily.

  9. Funny you guys are talking about this … I just finished my $80.00 jar and I’m on prenatals too caz, I mentioned gv to the oc just to see wat she thought about me drinking it while preggo! She defin recommends still taking the prenatal but loves gv sees no issues with it. It defin cleans the pipes and I just feel better when I’m consistent with it. (I slacked off too before I got pregnant) … I’m like u shelli I am in love with the thought of juicing but Lord knows I ain’t got the time..

    But doc says keep supplementing … So if that helps 🙂
