I wasn’t originally planning on posting this outfit at all. However, I got so many compliments on it at work yesterday that I figured, “What the heck! Why not?” Now, I know this one won’t be everyone’s cup of tea as it’s a little eclectic and colorful. But, ya know, the ladies at work were loving it, so I thought a few of you might too ;)!
I started with a basic wrap dress from Walmart. It’s from their GEORGE line and I have it in black, brown and a subtle brown and taupe “leopardish” print. I got the printed one on clearance for about 10 bucks down in the boondocks of Virginia a few years ago. I couldn’t find it in any other colors in the store back home, so I hit Walmart.com and was able to snag the solids for about $19 each, I think.
I love wrap dresses as they are a classic shape and flattering for many body types, especially hourglass shapes (teetering on pear) like mine ;). I think that they are a wardrobe essential and I have at least six of them. Anywho, I needed something quick and easy to wear, so this was it. Initially, I was thinking about wearing it with black tights and black leather calf-length boots. However, that just felt sooooo boring! So, then I thought of the purple slouchy booties that I showed you guys last week here. When I went into my tights/hose basket, I spotted some textured tights that matched the booties perfectly.
So, I pulled on the tights and boots, threw on a yellow beaded necklace and earring set and accessorized my hair with a bendie black hair scarf I got from the dollar store a couple of months ago. Initially, I adorned my hair with the DIY yellow flower clip I made last year. But, it felt like too much up top. So, I put it on the belt of the wrap dress instead. And, voilà!
That’s it. Hope that some of you like it as I took, like, 60 pics to get a few decent ones! LOL!!

Yes Dickie!!! LOL!! Thanks ladies!! @Amber, LOL!! Yes, though I’m short … I’m “shapely!” LOL!! There’s nothing “skinny” on me … though, when I get down to my 120, I’m a lot leaner looking and have a relatively small waist;).

LOL! Dickie, I’ve been having this convo a lot lately (on my YouTube channel). I’m 5’1″!!!! 5’7″?!?! I wish!! Shoot, I wish for 5’5″, 5’3″ even!! I have to sometimes argue for the 5’1″ I claim as I’ll get “accused” of being 5′!! LOL!

Shelli I think we’re play cousins. I’m 5’2. While I am petite, I am a “brick house” with shapely legs like you (lol). I am definitely pear shaped. I haven’t seen 120 since the new millennium (ha, ha). Trying to get back to 130 (havent seen that in over a year, but pray for me chile). Love them boots. Keep rocking them as long as you can – Spring is hopefully around the corner!
