RIP Whitney: I Will Always Love You

Probably one of my all-time favorite songs.

But this was my first favorite … used to pull out the microphone and tape recorder and belt it out, only to play it back and realize I didn’t sound anything like Whitney. *sigh*

Just today (Saturday) while driving I was singing along to “How will I know?” reliving teenage / young adult memories. What a rich voice. Sad indeed, but praying that she is at peace.

Unbelievable! I still remember the first pictures of saw of her when I was a kid. She was modeling for Seventeen magazine at a time when there were not many young brown beauties on those pages. She had a short cropped natural, and I was in awe of how beautiful she was. I was floored when I heard her first single; all that beauty mixed with all that talent. This is too sad for words….

It’s just crazy … I’m still in shock. The shock is more from sadness of a life that started so brightly and ended so tragically. And her poor daughter and family. As you said Lavendar, too sad for words.
