I did absolutely nothing to my hair in September. I washed every weekend and bunned. I didn’t have time to deep condition *slapping myself on the hand.* But I did see a lot of length retention. Hair is little past BSL. I actually think it grew, but I’ll know for sure when I straighten in November.
Hair Regimen:
- Pre-Poo with Grapeseed Oil and Hair Cholesterol
- Wash out and detangle in shower with Hello Hydration
- Apply Kinky Kurly Knot Today Leave in Conditioner from root to length
- Cantu Shea Butter around edges and dry parts without rubbing in (I like to let it melt on its own – lasts longer.)
- Finish with Miracle 7 Leave in Mist (Smells divine, contains silicones though. But I don’t mind, my hair likes some.)
In October, I plan to shampoo my hair and hopefully deep condition :).
Health & Fitness:
I’ve reached my pre-pregnancy weight, but I have not reached my pre-pregnancy size … how weird is that???
I haven’t given up yet. But, I’ve created a workout schedule where I only exercise Monday through Thursday. So, I don’t completely give up. The C-section scar has left me with a flap of skin that drives me CRAZY. I don’t think I’ll ever have a completely flat stomach again, but I’ll still try and see what happens. Enough complaining. After the doctor gave me the okay to exercise again, I started:
- Preparing for my 5k by running on Mondays and Wednesdays
- Lean and tone by taking Yoga twice a week
When I’d skip a day, I’d use the hubby’s Xbox Kinect. When I needed fun exercise, my top picks were:
- Your Shape Fitness Evolved
- Zumba
- Dance Central
Taking this into October as well!

Sounds like you’re doing pretty good to me Terysa! That’s awesome that you reached your pre-pregnancy weight already! Though you might not be the same size yet, I’m sure you’ll get there with continued perseverance. Stay tuned for my review on Lauren Brooks Kettlebell DVD in regard to reclaiming your flat tummy after a C-Section!
Your hair is beautiful!
I found out that I was out of conditioner this morning, as I was halfway through detangling my hair. I’m thinking I may buy Hello Hydration, since I want to try something new, and I assume it has to be working for your super long hair! š

Hi Yirssi,
Love your name! I started using HH a little over a year ago and I definitely have seen a lot of growth since then, but I’m not a 100% that’s where it came from. I think keeping it clean and moisturezed along with not messing with it much has definitely helped.

Hi Nikki,
No problem.
Yoga – Tuesday and Thursday morning
Walking/Running – Monday and Wednesday (I use the track in my neighborhood to run the straights and walk the curves)
The hubs just bought me ‘The Biggest Loser’ for the Xbox Kinect and there is an online community, trainer, and tons of reports. I tried it this morning and I love it. Do you have a Kinect?

His Jasmine,
I’m not really sure how long I’ve been natural because I didn’t know that I was transitioning – really long story I may have to blog about it.
I got my last relaxer the week after my college graduation in 2006. I was ADDICTED to weave before and after then, up until January of 2010 (NY resolution). After graduation I moved away from home and my stylist, so I wore quick weave after to quick weave and an occasional bun until I could get back home to her. Well, I never had the time to get a relaxer when I would go home. So, the whole time I was transitioning – I didn’t know.
Fast forward to the Holidays in 2009, when I found out I was preggers with my daughter. I was to lazy to weave and wanted to get a relaxer but I couldn’t because the chemicals could harm her, I opted out. So I started looking for styles to wear and I found CurlyNikki’s site and found out that all this time I was transitioning.
By that time the left side of my hair was curling all the way to the ends and the right side had more than half of straight relaxed ends. So, in short – no – I didn’t BC š But, I liked it none the less and continued to transition and trim. No BC, No Mini-chop, just trimming off dead ends.
Probably gave you more of an answer than you bargained for, sorry about that.

Thanks Shelli,
I may have to look into that DVD myself, because I had a mini melt down after trying a new Yoga game this morning.
