As many of you already know, Hairscapades was born out of my participation in the NaturallyCurly.com sponsored Curly Nikki Presents Kim Coles’ Grow Out Challenge (whew, mouthful!). The challenge ended on July 31st, but a few of us who developed great friendships through our GOC blogs wanted to meet in person and the idea of the meet-up was born. Hairscapades inadvertently became the platform to organize this event, which has grown to include far more than the original group of GOCers.
Now, we would like to extend an invitation to all readers, GOCers (old and new), kinky, coily, curly, transitioning, contemplating transitioning, big chopping and/or natural hair enthusiasts to the Hairscapades Natural Hair Meet-Up!!
So, if you’ve always wanted to attend a Natural Hair Meet-Up or just couldn’t make the LA event due to “locale challenges;),” come out and hang with us!! Meet fellow naturals, talk about products, techniques, styles and accessories. Also, bring your unwanted, never opened, partially used products, tools and/or accessories for the Product Swap Meet!! You’ll get rid of those “#FAILS,” in order to make room for that item (or two or ten) that you always wanted to try!! Last, but certainly not least, you’ll get to admire the rainbow array of wonderful kinks, curls and coils that will surely be on display!! So come out and make a new “curlfriend” … or two or ten!!!

I wish I was in or near the D.C. area. I hope there will be another meet up during the challenge (or after the challenge even). If so, I will definitly make travel plans in an effort to make the next one. I would love to meet all of you beautiful natural ladies.

Hmmmm, I’m wondering what that one product is …
I have a few things to “donate to the cause.” I have some HE Hydralicious for Tiffany if she attends. I think I may give away my bottle of HE Long Term Relationship conditioner too. I just bought it a few weeks ago and haven’t even tried it! But, HE HH works great for me, so I don’t know why I felt the need to pick that one up!! Think I’m going to donate the Shea Moisture Moisture Retention shampoo and what was that other one … oh yeah, the JessiCurl shampoo. I’m sure there’s some other stuff under the sink that I’ll give away. Not because they don’t work for me, but because I have more than one or haven’t used them in a while because I mostly do updos (a couple gels come to mind).
