MC Grammar

Standard

If you’ve been around this site or my NC.com GOC blog, you may know that I have this thing about bad grammar. I’m known as the grammar police among my family and friends. I hate to sound elitist, but my pet peeve is how often homonyms are misused, especially “your” and “you’re” (It’s “You ARE welcome.”). Sorry, diatribe.  Anyway … I saw this on So Random! today and, of course, had to share ;):

“Let’s beat him bad.”  “No, let’s beat him bad-LY!”

(I swear, So Random! is rapidly becoming my new favorite show!)

Hairscapades GOC – Comprehensive List

Standard

When I began to get submissions for the GOC, I had to quickly figure out a way to organize the entries or I knew I’d miss someone or would waste a lot of time just trying to figure out what I’d worked on and what was still pending. So, I created folders for each entrant and numbered them as I received e-mails. Next, I came up with the idea of waves which were going to include 10 participants per post, but ended up including 5. Well, this system will allow me to keep status updates organized as we do them month to month and I thought it might be helpful to all of you as well! That being said, below are the Waves (with hyperlinks to the initial wave posts) and the individuals in each wave. I’ve also posted this list to the GOC Home Page, so that you can always access it.

Health & Fitness Regimen: Nothing much will change here either. However, I did increase my Biotin and MSM dosages from 1000 to 2000 mg (I was taking 1 pill each, but both indicate from 1-3 pills per day, so I’m increasing to 2 and may eventually increase to 3 of each a day). I also won’t be running as much and will do more of the Brazil Butt Lift DVDs.

Supplements (daily after dinner):

  • 1 Multi-Vitamin (Nature’s Way Alive Energizer for Women)

  • Post work-out – Whey Protein Isolate (WPI) Shake (Nectar Strawberry Mousse); w/banana if after hot yoga

(This is my basic diet during the work week.  But, I deviate at times and believe that moderation is the key to maintaining weight loss.)

Motivation: I will not blog until I exercise! I promised that last week, but didn’t follow through as I really wanted to get all of these posts done. But I can’t continue to use the blog as an excuse. So, all of YOU are my motivation!! I might sign up for a 5K, as well.

Rewards: DIY blowout on low heat for length/volume check (hair); I just bought 2 pairs of skinny and 1 pair of trouser jeans from Loehman’s because my old skinny jeans weren’t so skinny anymore!! So, think I’m good on that front for a while. I’d say cake, but I haven’t been restricting that from my diet … moderation baby.  Gotta love it!!  So, BLOGGING!!

Follow me online: Ummm … yeah … that’s kind of obvious. *lol*

If you didn’t get your entry in time to be part of the “official” line-up, don’t fret!  You can still “play at home” by creating your own GOC journal or blog, establishing your goals, regimen and documenting your progress!! As we are at 45 participants now, I’ll select 5 more GOCers at the beginning of September to make a 10th wave for an even 50!  So …
